People celebrate Lunar New Year in Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood on Feb. 21, 2021. The Year of the Ox (4719) was inaugurated with lion dances instead of the traditional parade due to the coronavirus pandemic. Restaurants and stores made offerings of lettuce or oranges and gave red envelopes (hong bao) containing gifts to the lions to receive good luck, health and fortune in the new year.
